October was a wonderful month at our North Pittsburgh Dance Academy. We began the month with our annual booth at the Mars Applefest and ended it with a Spooktacular Halloween Celebration at the studio. A very special thank you goes out to all those that visited our booth at the festival. We also want to thank all those who dressed for our Halloween Celebration, and hope you all had fun. Your continued enthusiasm and support is what makes us enjoy the effort we have put into making this studio such a success. We hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable Trick or Treat with their families and friends this year too.

KUDOS to all those involved in our upcoming trip to Florida. 58 of our North Pittsburgh Dancers will be taking the stage at the Magic Kingdom on Monday, November 10 th to perform. We are so proud of them and want to thank all their families for giving them this wonderful opportunity. Have a safe trip and see you in Florida on the 10 th!!!!

Because of the Florida trip, the studio will be closed Monday, November 10 th through Wednesday, November 12 th. Classes will resume on Thursday, November 13 th at 12:30 PM. All students are more than welcome to make up these classes throughout the month during any of our other classes.

Please be reminded that all tuition payments are due by the 10 th of each month to avoid the $10 late fee. Because the studio will be closed this month on the 10th, current payments will be extended to the 17 th without penalty. Another costume deposit is due again this month. Keep in mind that this is not a mandatory payment but was put in to place to help alleviate a large payment due during the Holiday season.

NPDA Dress Code—We DO have a dress code!!! All dancers are to wear pink tights and black leotards ONLY!!! Proper shoes are also required for each appropriate class. If you have any questions regarding the shoes, please visit our website, or pick up one of our brochures. All hair MUST be pulled off the face in a bun with NO BANGS!!! NO STREET SHOES are permitted in the dance studios. All parents must remove their shoes when visiting their child’s class. This is to preserve the expensive dance floors. Keep in mind that the ONLY time students are permitted in the dance studios is during class. Thank you for your cooperation.

Studio Conduct…As a common courtesy to others, please refrain from running or being loud in the Common Areas. And remember, the locker room is for the dancers and their moms to use for changing and storing their personal belongings. Remember to respect that space.

We want to extend our sincere thanks to all, and wish you a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving. Remember that the studio will NOT be in session from November 26 th – December 2 nd so that all may enjoy this holiday with family and friends. To assist the less fortunate during this time of year, North Pittsburgh will be sponsoring a food drive. Once again, we will be accepting non-perishable food items until November 20 th. These items will be donated to the area food bank for distribution. A container will be placed in the reception area for your donations. Thank you for your generosity.

Some families have shown an interest in doing fundraisers at NPDA. The proceeds can be used toward tuition, costume fees, dance workshops, or future dance trips. These fundraisers will be ongoing as long as there is a serious interest. We are currently doing a Little Caesars Pizza drive. Information and order forms are available at the office.

We will be measuring the dancers for their Spring Performance costumes soon. All costumes will be ordered shortly and payment in full for them must be made by January 1, 2009. More information will follow.
